Tony Kearney

Tony Kearney is an Irish accordionist of some repute on both sides of the Irish sea. Tony is originally from Inchigeela in Co Cork and is now based in London, he tours regularly in both Ireland and the UK and is in great demand in the Irish clubs throughout England as he has an extensive repetoire of Irish ceili music.



Tony comes from a great musical background and began playing the accordion as a child, he has spent many years perfecting his own style and music. Sir Jimmy Shand and the legendary Scottish accordionist Will Starr have been his major influences, Tony has also played with some of the current greats of accordion music such as Fintan Stanley now based in Boston and Willie Maguire of Scotland. Tony plays a 3 row Shand Morino accordion, his albums can be heard regularly on radio in Ireland and the Uk

Tony began playing with his Uncle Tadgh Kearney who had the Tadgh Kearney ceili band on the road for many years, Tony played with a number of bands before taking the decision to set out as a solo musician.
